Maybelline Coloursensational Shine Gloss

Hello everyone!

When I was younger I was never a fan of the lipstick or lip stains, I never liked my lips to be too bright, I always thought people would think I was trying too hard (Even though half the girls in my school had bright lips), so I never really bothered.
After a few years I always wondered why I never at least tried it, so eventually I did...And I fell in love! Ever since then I have been a huge fan of the lip products and always try out new things, however about 3 years ago there was one product I became obsessed with, and I am still obsessed with it to this day, so I thought I would share it with you! It's the Maybelline Coloursensational Shine Gloss. It is a pretty old products but they still sell it and in my opinion it is still super amazing.
I adore the packaging on this product, a pretty silver top that you twist, and the colour of the product underneath. The one I have is in the colour Gleaming Genadine, and it's a dark berry red that is just perfect for autumn and winter. I only wear this lip product in the autumn/winter, as I feel it makes a real impact to the outfit I am wearing, it also gives my make up a warm tint to it on those frosty days.
This product is not a lipstick but a lip gloss or a lip stain. Another reason why I love this products is that it is super pigmented and it stays on pretty much all day, perfect for parties!!
The gloss is also small in size which is really beneficial for travelling, it can fit in a very small purse or make up bag which means when out and about you can always keep it with you. I do really love this product, and I am actually going to pick up some other colours to see how I like them and maybe write about them too. But I do believe that this will forever be my favourite autumn lip shine, and I may have to stock up as I have gone through 2 already (Oops!) This lip shine, may say (Shine) But in my opinion it is more matt than anything, however it does leave with a subtle glossy finish, while still keeping the full matt look.
This is what it looks like with a full make up look, (Sorry about my totoro top lol)
I would highly recommend this to anyone who has a love for deep berry colours and gloss! You can purchase this product from boots HERE

This has been my first beauty review, and I was so excited to write about one of my favourite products! I hope you all have a fantastic weekend and let me know in the comments what your favourite lip gloss/stick is!

I've decided to make a change

Hey guys!

I started this blog with the intention of turning it into a sort of weight loss diary for myself and also to inspire others who are in the same situation as me. As the weeks have passed I have come to realise that my blog isn't motivating at all, not for myself and in my opinion, not for others either.
So I have thought long and hard about my decision and I have decided that I am going to turn my blog into a simple lifestyle blog!

My weight loss isn't going as smoothly as I had wanted it to, and I feel that if I am not making any real progress then I don't have the right to give others advice, it wouldn't be ethical of me to give advice about how to lose weight if it isn't working for myself!
So my blog will become a place where I can share my feelings, tell you stories about something interesting that happened that day, and share my opinions on products or books, and maybe sometime down the line when I finally figure out the best way to lose weight that works for me, I will share that with you too.

I have met some amazing people these last few weeks and I am very lucky to have you all. Especially the ones who understand how it feels to suffer badly with anxiety, and understand that I cannot always confidently talk about it, but now I know that this is what blogging is for, to be yourself and share things you wouldn't normally share with others.

So this is just a simple change, and the change is to just be ME!

A part of me

Today is something different. I have been sitting here for over 2 hours, staring at my post screen wondering whether to write about beauty, fitness or a book review and, neither of them have made me giddy to start typing. But there is something that has been bothering me, and it only feels right that I write about it so that you guys have an insight into my mind, what makes me tick, and why some days I am non existent.

I guess I should start from the beginning.
Since about 7 or 8 years old I have suffered with anxiety, I was always that chubby child who had to try extra hard to make friends, only to loose them a few months later. I always had a hard time making friends, which led to my anxiety becoming worse. I never really got invited places, and when I did I was always worrying that I looked too fat, or my hair wasn't right, or that my outfit sucked...compared to the other girls I was with. I never felt like I would amount to anything, and to this day that still remains the case, I don't have many friends, but I am grateful for the ones I do have, Anyway...
So as I grew older my anxiety got louder and heavier, like I couldn't breath. I piled on the weight after my mum and dad split at the age of 18, putting on a whopping 4 stone! So I tried countless times to lose it, it never worked, my motivation just wasn't there. So I stayed the same.

Now at the age of 22, I am trying my hardest to lose the weight, its working but slowly. However my  confidence is still at an all time low, and my anxiety is as bad as ever.
Blogging has become this world where I don't have to hide my feelings, where I have made so many friends already and I am so thankful that I have them, even though some of them live a few hours away. I am confident that we will meet one day, I really need to stop rambling HA! So I decided to write a blog post to express my feelings, after all, isn't that what blogging is for? I understand this may come across as being a needy person, but I do need to vent sometimes because it can get to a point where I bottle it up so much that it becomes a massive weight on my shoulders and it can cause me to break down. Sometimes I feel like I am worth nothing, that girl's make up is better than mine, my outfit looks horrible compared to hers, and sometimes I read people's blogs and think I will never amount to be that great. Just like some people in my life constantly tell me. It can get a bit much but I feel that blogging and the blogging community is the perfect way to express my feelings, and I know that in this particular world, I wont get judged which is such a relief.

I think I needed to post this to make some people aware of how anxiety can be, I have heard "It's all in your head" and "Jesus smile for god sake" All too many times, but I can't help this feeling, it isn't my fault and I know that it's okay to feel down once in a while.
So that is my little story about anxiety, if you want me to do a Q&A then I will do that in a separate blog post, also I will post about ways in which I cope with anxiety, so if there are any of you out there who suffer like I do then I hope you can maybe benefit from my upcoming blog posts.

What I eat in a day

Hello everyone!

Some of you may be aware that I have been trying to lose weight and become a better version of myself, well that doesn't just end at working out, it also extends to my eating habits. Although I am not the type of person to ONLY eat unhealthy an fatty foods, I actually love healthy food. Fruits, vegetables, you name it I will most likely eat it (Obviously right? ha!)
My problem is that I simply eat too much food, so I decided to cut down my portions and change the way I eat to see the results. So I have written down everything I ate yesterday and it may help someone who is struggling to know what foods to eat!
I would just like to point out that I am in no way a nutritionist, I am just writing down what works for me!

Breakfast: Oatmeal with peanut butter and banana. 1 sliced apple. A small glass of orange juice

Lunch: Gluten free tortilla wrap filled with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, beetroot carrot and sweet chilli sauce. 1 Orange and 1 apple

Dinner: Baked sweet potato with non dairy butter, topped with baked beans and 1 cup of cheddar cheese.

Snacks throughout the day: more apples ( I love apples!) A square of dark chocolate (81%) soy vanilla yoghurt. A small bad of cashew nuts.

So that is a small fraction of my overall diet! Any meat products that are mentioned are actually vegetarian, but that's very rare that I eat these products every day. I would also like to say that there are not any photographs of the actual meals that were prepared yesterday as I simply forgot to take photos but I really wanted to share my daily food intake with you guys so instead I will replace the food photo with my face! I will start posting up my food in instagram though so you guys don't feel as if I am misleading you!

My workout essentials!

Working out can be very....boring!

Especially as a beginner, it can be hard to find the equipment to ensure you have some variety in your workouts.
I too felt like this at the start of my journey and would get bored with the same old routine, which meant I never really wanted to work out! BUT after searching online and around the shops I found the best workout essentials for me and I would like to share them with you!

1. Kettle-bell - I have three of these of various weights and I purchased them for a reasonable price from Ebay. They are amazing for arms, and helping with the core muscles!

2. Dumbbells - Once again I have three pairs of these in different weights, I use them mainly during my arm days, which consist of various arm exercises for 30 minutes. These I believe were £25 off Ebay.

3. Ankle weights - I use these only for two things, I wear them when jogging or walking the dog, and I use them when I do leg raises on leg day. Using them during leg raises also works my core a lot harder getting both of the benefits. These were £5 in Primark

4. Skipping rope - Obvious reason, for skipping, I don't tend to skip a lot because of my weight and the pressure when jumping, I get shin splints, so if in the same position as me, don't skip for ages on your first workout! These were £8 from Primark

5. Arm strap - I use this mainly for jogging, it holds my phone and I can listen to my playlist to take my mind off how out of breath I am when running ha! This was another cheap item from Primark which was about £5! It has an adjustable strap so when you lost weight you can just tighten it, it also sits nicely under any jumper and on top of thermals

6. Earphones - No matter what workout I am doing whether its arm day, leg day or cardio I always have my music on! I tend to create a playlist for each workout with all my motivational songs. Music helps me keep my mind off the pain!

7. Lip balm - Cold or hot weather, I always run when I have the time, rain or shine it doesn't stop me from working out. However right now it is autumn going into winter and the weather is becoming more icy and cold! Therefore jogging in this weather takes its toll on my lips so I always keep lip balm with me to hydrate my lips to make sure they keep their moisture

Whenever you are working out make sure you ALWAYS have a bottle of water on hand so you can keep hydrating yourself. If you are a beginner and just starting to jog do not push yourself too far on your first time! Take your time and build yourself up or you will get injured.

I will be posting some of my workouts for specific body parts if anyone is interested, so they will be coming very soon!

I'm donating my hair

Hello everybody!

This isn't one my my usual posts but I felt that it was important to share it with you regardless!

Yesterday afternoon I was fiddling about with my hair and getting very annoyed with it, when I had a thought...I will donate the majority of my hair to 'The Little Princess Trust' and just have my hair short! I love my long hair, I can't remember the last time my hair was shorter than hip length but I gathered that if can't do anything with it, then maybe the charity can!

The charity takes real hair that has been donated and turn it into a wig for a child who has lost their hair through cancer and other diseases, they make and give these wigs away completely free! The cost of a wig is around £350 so aside from donating my hair I am looking to raise £350 on the side, so that it helps the charity out for doing such an amazing job and making children so happy!

I have set up a 'JustGivingPage' and I will leave the link below! And if any of you could spare even 50p that would be a great help :) it is for an amazing cause and it puts a huge smile on the faces of children suffering with Cancer.

If you could all please share this post or my JustGiving page that would be a huge help too!!

Thank you all so much!

I won a competition!

Hello everybody!

For the last two weeks I have been rather down in the dumps, my anxiety has been quite bad and I have been unable to do the things I am used to doing. I was unable to work out like I normally do which resulted in me falling into a depression and comforting myself with all the foods I had banned myself from eating. For the two weeks I refused to go to college, meaning I had to have my work sent to me so I could complete it, all of this making me very miserable.
When it comes to my anxiety not many people in my life understand and they just kind of disregard it as me 'being silly' but I suppose if they don't live with it then it can be quite hard for them to understand.

The things I do to try and make myself feel even the slightest bit happier about myself is read books, blogs, magazines and watch some bad TV...I also LOVE bubble baths!
So it was a huge surprise when I was checking my email and received one from Samantha Frances! I adore her blog and enjoy reading it so much that my phone notifies me when she posts a new blog entry. The email stated that I was a winner in her online competition and that I had won a book and a few make up items.

Today I received the gifts and it has really put a smile on my face, 1) because I never win anything EVER!!
2) Because she did it because she wanted to be nice...she wanted to make someone happy, and that she did!!

Samantha made someone who feels unimportant every day feel the slightest bit happier, and that I really appreciate! I will leave the link to her blog below, and make sure you go and check out her beautiful blog :)
